Coin Mixing Detection
It has been revealed in previous studies that Bitcoin's anonymity is not absolute. Coin mixing protocols have been proposed to address these anonymity issues by breaking or obfuscating the relationship between transaction inputs and outputs, thereby ensuring privacy. Due to their ability to enhance anonymity, these protocols are often associated with illegal money laundering activities, and some mixing services have faced sanctions. In order to prevent these illegal activities, a technology to detect coin mixing is needed. Currently, various detection technologies such as heuristic-based and machine learning-based are being studied, and the goal is to achieve the state-of-art among various studies.

Blockchain-based Data Exchange Platform
The amount of data produced in real life continues to increase, and the demand for lots of data for various usages is soaring. This project is to develop a blockchain-based data exchange platform where various types of data can be provided by various sources and provided to various users. We are also working on a token economy system where data providers will be incentivized and data users will need to pay. We are also working on developing digital asset management technology.

Blockchain-based Stainless Steel Tracking
The number of cases in which POSCO’s genuine, high-quality stainless steel products are forged and distributed are increasing. This problem has the effect of losing the good image of POSCO. We are studying technologies to effectively track distribution routes based on blockchain technology and to distinguish genuine products of POSCO STS.

Blockchain Transaction Monitoring
Through a research project called BcMon, we monitor the transactions of bitcoin and Ethereum, a well-known public blockchain, for basic analysis and application analysis. We collect blockchain raw data, node data, network data, etc. from blockchain full nodes and store them in our own database for management. We use the collected source data for blockchain nodes and network performance analysis, smart contract vulnerability analysis, DDoS detection, blockchain forensics, etc.
